Linda Kimble, Executive Director. Linda has been with Serve City since their beginning
in 2000. She is the mother of three. She and her husband Duane are members of Redeemer
Church. She has a BS in Accounting from Miami University and a MSW from the University
of Cincinnati. She has past work experience in both business and clinical work with
severely mentally ill and chemical dependency. She believes that God is calling the
Body of Christ to unite in service to the poor, hungry, and homeless and is honored
to be a part of what is happening at Serve City.
Glenna Carroll, Pantry Director. Glenna started at the food pantry in January of
2006. She retired from the Animal Friends Humane Society where she was the manager
there. Glenna worked there for 18½ years before coming to work at the food pantry.
She is a mother of four, grandmother of nine, and the great-grandmother of two. She
attends the Redeemer Church. You can usually find Glenna still working at the pantry
long after everyone is gone. What a blessing she has been!
Elijah Balsbaugh, Office Manager/Property Manager. Elijah came to work at the shelter
in 2009 as book keeper. Since that time he has grown to take on the responsibility
of managing many different areas of Serve City. He graduated from Miami University
in 2010 with a degree in management. He and his wife were married shortly after.
He has a background in sales and food service management. He believes God has called
him to the work he is doing at Serve City as a way to expand God’s kingdom on this
earth through love and personal relationships.
Christopher A. Terry, Chosen Staff. Chris joined the staff at Serve City in early
2010. He has a background in customer service and you will often find him using this
to help the residents at Chosen feel safe, secure, and welcome.
Al Barnett, Choices Maintenance. Al began work at Serve City’s CHOICES apartments
in early 2010. He has an extensive background in maintenance service. He has a heart
for his neighbors around him and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is treated
fairly and with compassion.
Steve Sparks, Chosen Staff. Steve has worked in many different recovery and treatment
centers since becoming clean and sober 23 years ago. Steve was Pastor of Your Word
is Truth Ministries for 5 years and worked for Hope House Shelter for nearly 10 years
doing everything from front desk to Men’s Director. Steve has been a born again Christian
since 1995 and has been an ordained minister since 2000. Steve holds a Master’s
Degree in life where he continues to attend.
Amy Davis, Chosen Staff. Amy worked for over 10 years at a local pediatric hospital
before budget cuts forced her to be laid off. This event caused a lot of struggle,
which eventually ended with Amy living at Serve City for a period. Amy has used the
lessons she learned in her pediatric work and at Serve City to move to stable housing
and now she is a vital part of the Serve City team. Amy loves serving those living
at the shelter and helping them get back on their feet.
